It is a small, women-led firm, and several of its business clients say they have used it for between 10 and 20 years.
Most of the work is for small and medium businesses: structuring companies and partnerships, drafting supply, distribution, agency and lease agreements, and taking contract disputes to court. That includes restraint of trade, shareholder and director fights, evictions and specific performance claims. The firm also handles labour matters from disciplinary processes to the CCMA and the Labour Court, runs arbitrations, ombud and domain name adjudications, and collects debts. An unusual strand is environmental and administrative law: it deals with national and provincial authorities on protected areas, private nature reserves, hunting, fencing, permits and CITES applications.
For private clients it handles antenuptial agreements, parenting plans, maintenance and divorce. The firm says it supports charities working for women and children and against gender based violence, and it trains candidate attorneys, some of whom have gone on to open their own practices.
