Marais Attorneys (Marais Prokureurs) is a Vereeniging firm run by brothers Eldon and Benno Marais, who both took their LLB degrees at Potchefstroom. In 2005 they went into partnership with their father, Pieter Marais, an attorney with more than 40 years in the Vaal Triangle. The partnership became an incorporated company in 2008, when Pieter stepped down as a director to concentrate on commercial property and stayed on as a consultant. The office is at Suite 2, Next Group Building, 20 Athlone Drive, on the corner of General Hertzog Road in Three Rivers, and the firm also serves clients in Vanderbijlpark.

Debt collection and property have been the core from the start. The firm recovers body corporate and homeowners association levies, school fees, rent, medical and professional fees, micro loans and other consumer and commercial debts. On the property side it transfers homes and business premises, drafts deeds of sale and leases, evicts defaulting tenants, collects arrear rent and mediates landlord and tenant disputes. As notaries the attorneys draw antenuptial contracts and cohabitation agreements, and they also handle divorce, maintenance, wills, trusts and estates.

Litigation runs in the Magistrates', Regional and High Courts, and the firm takes correspondent instructions for the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark courts.
